Ruffle Blouse with Boning
Ruffle Blouse with Boning
This is a remarkable piece of history from the Edwardian times. Front has ruffles going down into pleats at the v-hem, the double puffed sleeves move into a tailored fitted sleeve with elbow darts, the back has two outward pleats from shoulder to hem, also creating a v in the back. The sleeves end in a lightweight mesh fabric with tiny embroidered hem. Cotton lining and underlining has boning sewn in for that perfect shape. All hook and eye closures.
The colour has some fading, and the outer fabric is *extremely fragile*, visible mending, all reflected in price.
Bust: 28”
Waist: 23”
🧵Several of the vintage pieces are over 100 years old, many that were not stored correctly, so they may have old closures, visible mending, holes, missing beads or spots I may not catch (even though I do try to give them a good looking over before posting). They may have FRAGILE fabric and seams. They will show signs of wear and age; they are still beautiful in their own right and deserve the admiration and respect for their age and the humans in our history who made these by hand.
🧵Handmade items are handmade, and will not be perfect.
🧵By purchasing this, it acknowledges that you have read and agreed to the store policies.
🧵Thanks for checking out my shop, supporting sustainable style and a pediatric cancer family!
